Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac running macOS 26 or later, with Apple silicon or Intel.

Why is there no snow on my folders?

That feature is off by default. Turn on Desktop icons in the panel and allow Screen Recording when macOS asks.

Why does macOS keep asking about screen access?

macOS shows this alert for apps that capture the screen and may repeat it from time to time. Developers can't turn it off. If you'd rather not see it, turn off Desktop icons and Dock in the panel. Everything else keeps working.

Can I still click my Dock under the snow?

Yes. Clicks pass through the snow. If you prefer, turn off Snow piles in front of the Dock.

How do I get my old wallpaper back?

Turn off Winter scenes by time of day in the panel. A regular image comes back on its own. If you used an animated Apple wallpaper, choose it again in System Settings > Wallpaper.

Will it drain my battery?

Snow density is cut in half on battery by default, and the app pauses when your screen is locked or asleep. You can lower the density in the panel for even less use.

How do I remove it?

Quit it from the panel, then drag the app to the Trash. If you used winter scenes, pick another wallpaper first.
